The Global Banking Alliance for Women and Bank al Etihad are delighted to announce that the 2018 GBA Summit will be held November 13 to 15 in Jordan.
The Annual GBA Summit is the Alliance’s flagship event, focusing exclusively on how financial services providers can capture the power of the Women’s Market. With the presence of bankers, insurers, policymakers, regulators, multilateral and bilateral representatives, thought leaders, and other stakeholders, the GBA Summit is the seminal event for women of all segments’ economic empowerment and full financial inclusion.
Bank al Etihad’s deep-rooted commitment to gender equality is manifest by its market facing program—Shorouq—which supports all segments of Jordanian women with access to financial and non-financial services; by its market-leading gender diversity and inclusion policies; and by its strong role in creating a legal and regulatory environment that enables women to achieve financial freedom and security.
Jordan is a unique venue in the Middle East and North African (MENA) region, host to many international conferences. The 2018 Summit will attract not only the GBA membership, but many other interested stakeholders – particularly from MENA, where the gender gap in financial inclusion is the highest in the world. This year’s theme is the Future of Financial Services for Women, enabling GBA to embrace our widening circle of non-bank financial services providers and to showcase the many innovations happening now and in the future to support the Women’s Market.
The 2017 Summit was hosted by NatWest, part of the Royal Bank of Scotland, in London and brought 200 participants from nearly 70 different organizations in 50 countries to discuss Women’s Market best practices, exchange information and ideas, and make new connections. We expect the attendance and outcomes of the 2018 Summit to be equally impressive.
