Spotlight on: Leading Purpose-Driven Financial Ecosystems
The theme of this year’s Summit honors our host, NatWest, for driving alignment in the UK entrepreneurial ecosystem to support women’s enterprises. The bank’s backing of its CEO Alison Rose is no accident: It reflects a strategic choice to be a purpose-driven organization. While part of NatWest’s purpose is to close the entrepreneurial gender gap in the UK, another is to lead on climate action. At this Summit we will explore what it means to lead with purpose, including championing the female economy and being a leader on climate action. Registration is now open for members.
With purposeful investments also on the rise, next month we host our first of two Fintech Investor Forums, during which our fintech members seeking early-stage funding get the opportunity to pitch to a select group of investors. While this event is open to members only, our Fintech Friday sessions are open to the public. Our next Fintech Friday takes place June 17 and looks at Web 3.0–enabled small business opportunities. June also marks the launch of our first-ever Data Learning Series: Gender Data Driving Business Decisions with Data2X. The series is for FSPs who need to unpack how to get and use sex-disaggregated data to drive women-centered strategies. Final call to apply to register here.
This month, we extend a warm welcome to our newest global member, BNP Paribas Group. The group operates in 68 countries, but its bank in Turkey, TEB, has been a member of the Alliance since 2015 and is a leading example of a bank with a strong focus on WSMEs. The group joining is a step-change for the Alliance and for BNP, marking a larger commitment to supporting female entrepreneurs and building on its leadership in this space in several markets, including France. We interview Valerie Eymard, Global Head of Retail Banking Company Engagement, who shares the bank’s plans for going global in its support of WSMEs.
