The 2021 Annual Summit is taking place on Oct. 5-7, with a focus of “Investing in Women, Transforming our World.” Why this theme, this year? Because we are at an inflection point. The climate is changing more rapidly than predicted, financial services digitization has accelerated, the workplace is in flux and the SME sector is still the backbone of our economies. We have a unique opportunity to harness these trends to transform the world for the better by investing in the world’s largest underserved market: women.
Over the course of three days, we’ll bring together experts from diverse backgrounds — bank CEOs, fintech founders, investors, D&I leaders, development financiers, and many more — to discuss how to make that happen by focusing on three distinct topics.
On Oct. 5, we’ll talk through bold new strategies for Creating Female Friendly Entrepreneurial Ecosystems. We’ll explore replicating the UK’s Investing in Women Code model, a unique ecosystem-wide approach to galvanizing investment in female entrepreneurs at the national level. We’ll also dive deep into new segment opportunities, including Gen Z and women of wealth, and end with a macro perspective on the she-cession and building back better.
On Oct. 6, we’ll focus on Designing Gender Intelligent Fintechs. We’ll share the Alliance’s latest research into the fintech sector, building on last year’s ground-breaking report. We’ll reveal how much money fintechs are leaving on the table by not being gender intelligent and how they can gain better traction with womenthrough each stage of the sales funnel. We’ll have deep-dive discussions by vertical and then host our first-ever Fintech Investor Forum, which will bring together gender-lens investors and fintechs to catalyze the rewards system for gender-intelligent design. Last, we’ll hear pitches from the finalists of our second annual Alliance Hack, who have designed solutions to increase women’s access to finance, and we’ll announce the Female Economy Fintech of the Year.
On Oct. 7, we’ll look at Building the JEDI Workforce of Tomorrow. In light of the #MeToo movement, the racial reckoning sparked by George Floyd, and the inequalities laid bare by the COVID-19 pandemic, this day will give us the chance to reflect on cultural transformation and discuss the role employers have to play in championing diversity and equity. We’ll also hear from female leaders about their vision for a more inclusive and sustainable future.
Interactive panel discussions, fireside chats, keynotes and spotlights will help bring these topics and more to life. In addition, we are delighted to offer a new networking component through the Jublia platform, which enables all attendees to connect with peers at the event. We’ll cap off the event with the annual members meeting: a chance to reflect, relax, and catch up with old friends.
