The Global SME Finance Forum 2016 brought together leaders from banks, fintech companies and development finance institutions for three days of discussion and learning from September 19-21. More than 350 attendees from 150 different organizations were in attendance.
This year’s conference explored innovations and new opportunities in small business finance, with fintech demonstrations and exhibits, and interactive sessions featuring leading experts on SME finance regulation, financing women entrepreneurs, trade/supply chain finance, blockchain technology and artificial intelligence in the financial sector.
GBA Chief Executive Inez Murray was in attendance, speaking about the huge opportunity women SME owners represent for banks around the world, and how Alliance members are successfully capturing the market with a holistic value proposition comprising access to finance, information, education, markets and recognition. The panel, “Financing Women Entrepreneurs,” also included Karyl Akilian from GBA member BLC Bank in Lebanon and Yanping Fu from GBA member Bank of Luoyang in China.
