The final day of the 2017 GBA Summit takes a look at the power of effective networks and how banks can help build them – both for staff and for women clients.
Whether for new business generation, individual career development or simply getting the job done, networking is a vital tool for business. Yet so few people take a strategic approach to it. Networking specialist Andy Lopata shares key insights on the power of networking, how men and women have different networking styles, and what networking means for building banks’ business. Following his presentation, we’ll hear real-world examples from the GBA network of how they have built and maintain their internal employee networks and their customer networks.
The morning session will conclude with a special panel discussion by four male CEOs from our host NatWest, BLC Bank in Lebanon, Stanbic Bank in Zambia and BRAC Bank in Bangladesh on why they made the strategic decision to focus on the Women’s Market, what have been the key challenges and lessons learned, and how, as male leaders, they have been able to champion work around gender equality.
The GBA Members Meeting will follow, where the Alliance will gather to explore the progress made since our last convening as well as the organization’s strategic direction in the coming years. Breakout sessions on insurance for the Women’s Market, the value of cards for women, and diversity and inclusion will anchor the meeting.
The day will end with Study Tours to either Entrepreneurial Spark, where guests will get a look at NatWest’s robust strategy to encourage entrepreneurship in the UK, or Drummonds Private Bank, where attendees will see what the bank is doing for its High Net Worth female clients.
