Last call to register for the 2025 Annual Summit, taking place May 28 – 29, hosted by the National Bank of Rwanda and Access to Finance Rwanda.
Alliance members, central banks and multilateral development banks, along with impact investors and female founders will gather to unpack what is needed to accelerate entrepreneurial ecosystems to work for women.
Discussions throughout the two-day summit will focus on what is working and what needs to be done to unlock more finance and business enabling services to support women in business, drawing on insights from across the East African eco-system in particular.
Key policy enablers for WMSMEs driven by high quality sex-disaggregated data, will be shared by ten countries joining us from the Women’s Financial Inclusion Data (WFID) partnership.
This policy discussion dovetails nicely with the Women Entrepreneurs (WE) Finance Code Study Tour taking place May 30, with national Code Champions sharing updates from the 30+ countries currently implementing the Code.
The Summit also provides an opportunity to honor the work of our members, as we recognize that achieving impact requires substantial resources, know-how, political will and personal perseverance. Our annual Champions of the Female Economy Awards will be held during the final Summit session on May 29. We’ve been gratified by the number of members to have qualified for an award this year, having met the requirement by submitting annual performance data to our Female Economy Analytics Survey. We now look forward to announcing this year’s winners and celebrating them, among the many members who have delivered extraordinary results.
This month we are delighted to welcome our newest member Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) Egypt to the Alliance. In this newsletter, we interview Ihab ElSewerky, CEO and Managing Director, who shares the bank’s strategy for supporting Women’s Markets in Egypt.
We are very much looking forward to seeing ADCB, other members, partners, and ecosystem stakeholders at the Summit next month for what promises to be a super interesting gathering.
