Garanti, EBRD Partner for Women in Business Across Turkey

Women represent a huge untapped resource in the Turkish labor market, particularly in the business sector where only a small minority of managers are female. To capture this opportunity, GBA member institutions Garanti Bank of Turkey (hosts of our upcoming annual summit in June) and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development are partnering on a new initiative focused on women-owned small and medium enterprises. To encourage larger-scale businesses, the average loan tenor will be longer under the EBRD credit line and the maximum amount for a single loan will be US $2 million. The initiative will also provide more support for women who own or manage SMEs outside the main cities of Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir.
