In November 2023, the Dominican Republic became the first country globally to launch the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Code (WE Finance Code)––a multi-stakeholder commitment to address the financing gap for women entrepreneurs and support their formalization and growth. Its story demonstrates how Code countries can move quickly from finding champions and building support, to collecting data, to driving meaningful action for women-owned businesses.
