Financial Alliance for Women Annual Summit
The Financial Alliance for Women’s Annual Summit is the premier event focused on the power of the female economy. Each year, the Alliance convenes the financial sector and policy makers to share solutions for women’s economic empowerment.
The Annual Summit 2025 will take place in Kigali, Rwanda on May 28 and 29, hosted by the National Bank of Rwanda and Access to Finance Rwanda.
The Summit will include a policy and investor forum; best practice panels and workshops; and unparallelednetworking opportunities with the world’s leading practitioners serving Women’s Markets.

Highlights from the 2024 Annual Summit
The Annual Summit 2024 focused on moving women through the entrepreneurial funnel—from starting up, to growing and exiting a business. We looked at the types of financing required at each stage from Angel, to debt finance to venture capital and what it takes to close the gender gap in access to all three. We also tackled the non-financial services required to support women on their entrepreneurial journeys and how to build supportive ecosystems to make that happen.
The Summit explored the critical enabling factors to building a more inclusive financial services sector —gender diversity, equity & inclusion in our industry and in our policy making institutions; sex disaggregated data to drive commercial and public sector strategies and policy; technology—and the amazing business models our fintech members have built to reach and add value to women we only dreamt of even 10 years ago. We also tackled the seemingly insurmountable problem of climate change and what we can do, as a financial services sector, to support women’ build their resilience and mitigate global heating.
Highlights from the 2023 Annual Summit
The 2023 Summit focused on ‘Driving Strategies For Inclusive Finance” and our members’ journey to Become the employer of choice and the bank of choice for women in their markets. We focused on our members and how they became true Champions of the Female Economy, acting as ecosystem orchestrators, and driving national strategies to support female entrepreneurs.
The Annual Summit 2023 witnessed the launch of the WE Finance code in the Dominican Republic. This widespread support signals the level of commitment to leveling the playing field in terms of access to finance and other resources that enable women to start-up, scale and exit their businesses at the same rate as men.
