Naomi Kirungu leads SME partnerships at the African Management Institute (AMI) and is driven by the belief that Africa’s solutions lie in sustainably growing our MSMEs — the true engines of job creation and economic transformation. For over a decade, AMI has transformed and empowered more than 40,000 African SMEs through an evidence-based, tech-enabled approach to business development support — which drives growth, creates jobs, and has an inbuilt mechanism for scale. Businesses supported by AMI experience 15–20% year-on-year revenue growth, with employee wages increasing by up to 25%. AMI has offices across 8 countries in Africa, including Kenya, where Naomi is based. She holds a Master of Science in Investment Finance from the University of Nairobi and enjoys spending adventurous time outdoors with her son.
