The Board of the Global Banking Alliance for Women has elected Larke Riemer, Director of Women’s Markets at Westpac, as Chair. Larke replaces outgoing Chair Chris Sullivan, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Bank of Scotland, who served in the position for the past two years. Chris will remain on the GBA Board.
Larke returns to the role of Governing Board Chair after two years as the GBA’s Global Ambassador. In this capacity, Larke represented the Alliance at high-level international conferences, raising awareness about the GBA among key stakeholders and building support for our work. She was one of the Alliance’s founding members.
In her current role at Westpac, Larke has responsibility for growing the bank’s total business from its women customers, which currently sits at approximately $107 billion and generates over $1.6 billion in revenue. She is also a member of the National Breast Cancer Foundation Women’s Advisory Network, the Advisory Board on Diversity for Allens Linklaters Lawyers and the WEConnect International Advisory Board, and has been honored with numerous awards for her efforts in advancing economic empowerment for women worldwide.
