Despite the unavoidable postponement, the line-up of speakers and panelists confirmed for the Summit represents a high-level, diverse cross-section of expertise. Included are CEOs of major multinational and national banks, including Alliance board chairman Chris Sullivan, CEO of corporate banking for Royal Bank of Scotland and Ergun Ozen, CEO of Garanti Bank, the Summit’s host. The agenda also features:
  • cabinet-level officials from the Turkish government
  • leading policymakers including the co-chair of the G20’s working group on SME finance
  • the investment banking community including Goldman Sachs
  • leaders of the Turkish business community and
  • thought leaders from our sponsor organizations including the International Finance Corporation and the Multilateral Investment Fund
The heart of the Summit is the membership itself. During the best practice panels, you will hear from the individual men and women responsible for their banks’ Women’s Markets programs. Far from business theory, the best practice sessions will gather together in the same rooms the people who actually know how to create a Women’s Markets program and make it succeed. And of course the Summit agenda is designed to provide ample opportunity for networking, including the gala dinner cruise on the Bosphorus on the closing night. We look forward to joining our invited guests, and our members and prospective member banks, in Istanbul in September.
