Sue Kelsey is executive vice president, Global Consumer Products. She is responsible for accelerating industry growth and driving Mastercard leadership in the prepaid space. In addition, she is accountable for delivering Mastercard’s commitment to the World Bank of including 500MM unbanked consumers into the world’s formal economy by 2020, driving true inclusion at the base of the pyramid.

Sue joined Mastercard in September 2015 as senior vice president, Prepaid Product Management, where she led the revitalization of the global product solutions through a consumer orientated Product Line Strategy, including the identification of several new business verticals. Furthermore, she created an engagement plan with private sector entities in the garment manufacturing and coffee farming areas to start penetrating the 230 million unbanked consumers paid in cash.

Sue brings 20 years of product and marketing experience from the Consumer-Packaged Goods industry to Mastercard. There she developed her skill set in generating consumer insight, product positioning and award winning in market execution. Sue joined Mastercard from GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare where she held the position of US Marketing Director, responsible for a $900M P&L and portfolio of 10+ healthcare brands such as Tums and Nicorette. During this time, she led her teams to several awards including Winner of a Cannes Lion, SABRE award and Effie nomination, as well as receiving the ‘Rising Star’ award from Healthcare Business Women’s Association and the Tribute to Women And Industry Award.

Prior to this she held a variety of Marketing Leadership roles at both the local market and global marketing level at GSK. She has worked across a diverse set of countries, both developed and developing. Sue joined GSK from Reckitt Benckiser where she held marketing positions in the UK and Australian markets.

Sue holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Leeds in the UK, has lived in the UK, France, Australia and the US and has 2 young children.
