Mwende Muvea is a Transaction Specialist for Citi Social Finance (formerly Citi Inclusive Finance), an industry specialist team that works across Citi businesses globally to develop scalable business platforms and client solutions that enable the bank, its clients, and partners to expand financial inclusion, accelerate access to basic services, boost job creation and scale infrastructure development. In this role, Mwende provides subject matter expertise and oversight on transactions in the areas of economic inclusion, food security, healthcare, education, water, sanitation, housing, reliable energy, transportation, telecommunication and employment. Since joining Citi in 2014, Mwende has held various roles as a coverage banker in Kenya, overseeing clients, due diligence and underwriting processes. Her most recent position was Portfolio Lead for Digital Solutions, Digital Disruptors and Inclusive Finance, where she led the origination, structuring and execution of innovative transactions. Mwende has a Bachelor of Arts in Finance & Accounting (First Class Honours) from Kenya Methodist and is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Sustainable Development at the University of Sussex.
