Miguel Soriano is a Fintech leader and green finance expert with more than 15 years of experience in investment banking, business development, strategy consulting and project management. Currently, he works at IFC, the private arm of the World Bank Group, and leads the Upstream efforts for the financial sector in the East Asia & Pacific (EAP) region. Upstream is part of IFC’s ambitious growth strategy to stimulate investment activity to address complex development challenges in emerging markets. Miguel focuses on the origination and management of innovative projects that create new markets to solve the development gaps and ultimately catalyze private sector investments. On the academic front, Miguel finished his PhD thesis on the evaluation of Fintech startups in Financial Inclusion in 2017. He is an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University and a Visiting Lecturer at Cambridge University in the UK where he teaches Fintech to the MBA and Master of Science programs.
