Khadija Mariam has been working as Head of Women Entrepreneur Cell in BRAC Bank PLC, the leading private commercial of Bangladesh. She has been managing the women SME banking services, financing and facilitating non-financial services for the women SMEs of Bangladesh. Having diversified background in branding, communication, business intelligence and SME financing for more than 13 years, Mariam has hands-on experience in women SME market, inline challenges, and strategies to overcome the key bottlenecks in financing. By focusing on developing the skills and capacities of women SMEs and getting the financial market ready with proper financial eco system, Mariam has contributed to hold BRAC Bank TARA as 25% shareholder of women SME financing portfolio in Bangladesh. Apart from core financing, Mariam has been working as a trainer and mentor in building business management skills for women SMEs in several projects with UN, World Bank, IFC, Bangladesh Bank, SME Foundation etc.
