Deputy Director Women’s Economic Empowerment, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, United Kingdom

Diva is the Deputy Director for Women’s Economic Empowerment at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and a Visiting Fellow at the Oxford Martin School.

At the Gates Foundation, Diva leads the global portfolio on strengthening data architecture and deepening research and evidence for women’s economic empowerment programming and policymaking. She joined the Gender Equality team in 2019 and played a key role in the design and launch of the Women’s Economic Empowerment team and strategy. Previously, she has worked in 10 countries for global non-profit organizations and for the Indian government.

Diva holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the University of Oxford and a graduate degree in Economics from Yale University.
