Deborah Barta is the Senior Vice President of Innovation and Startup Engagement at Mastercard. Ms. Barta drives global innovation teams to accelerate high-potential concepts to market, working alongside diverse partners, startups and the fintech community. Engaging cutting-edge technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain, she leads intrapreneurial teams to create breakthrough solutions for scale through an agile approach to research, development, incubation and pilot.
She also leads Mastercard’s engagement with the global startup community through Start Path, the company’s award-winning program that sources the world’s leading startups as collaborators to build the future of commerce together.
Before joining MasterCard, she successfully led client engagements as a strategic business consultant for Deloitte Consulting, IBM Global Services, PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting and Arthur Andersen across a variety of industries.
Ms. Barta serves on the non-profit boards of the NY Tech Alliance, which supports the New York tech community, and the Piatigorsky Foundation, which shares live classical music via world-class musicians with communities throughout the U.S.
Ms. Barta holds an M.B.A. from Webster University, a B.S.B.A. in Finance and Music from Washington University in St. Louis and a Professional Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Stanford University.
