Annabel Spring was appointed CEO, HSBC Global Private Banking in September 2020. She joined HSBC in April 2019 and prior to her current role she led retail banking and wealth product teams including sustainability, customer experience and advocacy and the global propositions. She was also responsible for data and analytics, digital messaging experiences and sales across WPB. From 2009-2018 Annabel was a member of the Group Executive of the Commonwealth Bank where she was Group Executive of the Wealth Management Division, and Global Head of Strategy responsible for mergers and acquisitions, government relations and communications, reporting to the CEO. Prior to CBA Annabel was Managing Director, Global Head of Firm Strategy and Execution at Morgan Stanley, reporting variously to the CEO, Co-Presidents and Chairman and responsible for strategy, mergers and acquisitions until 2009. She also worked in corporate finance, capital markets, leveraged finance and treasury in Morgan Stanley after joining the Firm in 1994. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelors of Laws and Economics from the University of Sydney.
