Amar Lkhagvasuren serves as the Chief Executive and Secretary General of the Mongolian Bankers Association (MBA). Amar Lkhagvasuren brings significant leadership and a wealth of experience to representing Mongolian banking sector’s collective interests. His career trajectory showcases a deep understanding of Mongolia’s financial ecosystem, commencing at the Central Bank of Mongolia in 2001. There, he transitioned from an administrative officer to a supervisor within the Supervision Department. His experience extends to international development through his role as a Project Coordinator at the World Bank’s Financial Capacity Development Project and nearly nine years at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) (2011-2019). At the ADB, Amar’s responsibilities encompassed macroeconomic analysis, forecasting, policy counsel, research, public engagement, and knowledge dissemination, alongside the strategic planning and business plan development of ADB-funded initiatives in Mongolia. Amar holds a Master of Science in Banking and Finance from the Luxembourg School of Finance and a bachelor’s degree in Economic Studies from the National University of Mongolia.
