A pioneer in SME banking in Bangladesh, BRAC Bank is the country’s fastest-growing bank.

About BRAC Bank

Founded in 2001 with a small and medium enterprise focus, BRAC Bank is always looking to innovate and improve its business model in line with its commitment to profitable, customer-centric and socially responsible growth. Today the bank offers a full array of banking services to both individuals and business entities across Bangladesh. BRAC Bank serves more than 1.2 million clients, with a network of 186 branches, 448 ATMs, 460 SME Unit Offices and a further 1,800 delivery points.

The Program

BRAC Bank’s Women’s Market program, TARA, was formally launched in May 2017. The program began in 2016 as a diversity and inclusion effort to make the bank a great place to work for women, and evolved into a holistic proposition that aims to offer financial and non-financial products and services to all women in Bangladesh – from entrepreneurs to stay-at-home mothers. Under the program, BRAC Bank provides deposit, lending and credit card products tailored to women’s needs, alongside trainings and workshops on professional and business development, networking opportunities, a dedicated help line for TARA clients, and special discounts with retail partners.
