Senior Supervisor, The Bank of Mongolia

Solongo Jantsan is a seasoned economist and financial sector expert from Mongolia, with extensive experience in banking supervision, regulation and resolution, financial policy, risk assessment and central banking. Educated in Turkey, Italy, and the UK, she holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in economics and began her career at KPMG before joining the Bank of Mongolia. Over a decade, she has led critical reforms including the 3-year EFF program by IMF during 2017-2020 and introduced international standards in areas of risk-based supervision, macroprudential policy, resolution and crisis management frameworks and banking legislations. She played a central role in implementing AQR, macro stress testing, IT auditing for the first time in Mongolia, besides IFRS 9 and drafting key legislative amendments. As a former director at State Bank, she also steered strategic planning into ESG and IPO preparation. Her cross-border academic and professional journey reflects her commitment to resilient and transparent financial systems.
