This panel explored the roles public and private sector actors can play in promoting financial inclusion for women. Panelists provided their regional perspectives on the credit gap for women and women entrepreneurs, and the importance of access to finance as well as markets and customers.
Panelists also discussed in detail the individual roles the government, the private sector and International Finance Institutions can and should play in trying to close this gap. Several partnership models were presented that included strong policy frameworks, as well as models for the collaboration of the private sector and several community-level financial institutions.
