Sam Cooper-Gray

Head of Commercialisation and Engagement, Global Business Banking, Global Business Banking

Sam has worked within Financial Services for over 20 years and as a subject matter expert on inclusion, with extensive knowledge in gender diversity. Currently Global Head of Commercialisation and Engagement for HSBC Business Banking, working across a business with over 1.3m customers and 21 markets and territories. Sam is also the Global Sponsor for HSBC BALANCE Advocates programme and previous Global Co-Chair for HSBC BALANCE. HSBC BALANCE has over 50,000 members, 220 Executive Leader Ambassadors and 1,000 Advocates across 48 markets and is an employee resource group focused on ending gender imbalance within the bank and across the industry. She is also a Board member for Women on the Wharf, leading the Beyond Mentoring programme connecting over 550 mentors and mentees across 20 major firms in London. In addition to this Sam has experience as a non-exec director, advising on diversity and inclusion and is a charity trustee for the Kent Community Foundation. Sam was awarded the We Are the City’s Top 100 Rising Stars Editor’s Choice award in 2020 and listed as one of the city’s Inspirational women by Brummell Magazine in 2019. Sam is also a judge for the Inclusive Companies Awards.
